PACS and Nepal

The Master's Programme PACS - Peace and Conflict Studies Magdeburg is conducting a research project on the topic: Nepal and the Disaster-Conflict Interface. By focussing on the specific case of Nepal, students from different programmes at Otto-von-Guericke-University Magdeburg will analyze the impact and consequences of the massive earthquake of April 2015, which caused large-scale destruction of the country’s infrastructure about 8000 casualties.
By focussing on the specific case of Nepal, we want to analyse and discuss the Disaster-Conflict Interface. After a preparation period in Germany during the winter term 2017/18, we will conduct our qualitative research during a two-week excursion to Nepal in February 2018 and in Cooperation with other students from Kathmandu University.
